v3.0

Date: Spring 1924 (from opening caption). The opening of the British Empire Exhibition at Wembley (attended by Richard and Virginia at the start of this episode) was on April 23rd. This was also the first time the king's voice had been broadcast on the radio.

Rooms: Lily and Ruby share a room – we haven't seen this set before. Given the position of the room as it is shown in Whither Shall I Wander?, I presume this is supposed to be the same attic room as occupied by Sarah and Rose right back at the start of Season One.

Goof: Gareth Hunt (Frederick): "I'll go and fetch the dining-room silver down, then, and carry on cleaning it." Gordon Jackson: "Very well, Edward. Oh Frederick... ha ha. I beg your pardon, Frederick... yes." Watch the other players as Jackson makes the mistake – Jackie Tong spots it immediately, but Jean Marsh doesn't. (1'33")

Elizabeth background: She has an apartment on the 14th floor of a New York building overlooking the Hudson River (4'08").

William background: He is at Summer Fields school (a preparatory school near Oxford) (4'30").

Lily background: Her surname is Hawkins, and she is "only just 22". Her mother is still alive, though somewhat feeble-minded, and lives in Banbury, Oxfordshire. Her father is dead.

On her ukulele, Georgina plays California Here I Come written by Bud De Sylva and Joseph Meyer (and possibly Al Jolson) in 1924.

Goof: We hear a voice say "cue" just before Virginia enters the morning room (11'45").

Goof: Lily throws her apron across the back of a chair, but it slides off (25'40").

Goof: If Lily is not going with Hudson to visit her mother, then why does she dress up to go out? (41'37")

This is Lily's last episode.
